Heart & Stroke VIP 50/50 Draw Lottery Spring 2019 Rules & Regulations


Ticket Purchasers and any other persons named on a ticket must be at least 18 years of age. Tickets must be purchased within the province of Ontario and cannot be mailed outside of Ontario. Only tickets that have been paid and verified as paid prior to the final sales deadline are eligible. The Rules prohibit the following individuals and all persons residing in the same household as these individuals from purchasing a ticket: Employees and Directors of the Foundation; partners and employees of Deloitte LLP and its affiliates and employees of licensed gaming suppliers for this Lottery.

By purchasing a ticket with the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada (the “Foundation” or “Licensee”) for the Heart & Stroke 50/50 Draw Lottery Spring 2019 (the “Lottery”), the Purchaser acknowledges they have read, understood, and agreed to these rules and regulations (“Rules”). “Purchaser” means a person: (i) purchasing a ticket(s) for his/her personal use; (ii) purchasing a ticket(s) on behalf of a group where the purchaser’s name and up to two additional names and/or a group name appear on all ticket(s), or (iii) purchasing a ticket that is allocated to a group of which the Purchaser is not a member. The Purchaser’s name shall always appear as the first name on any ticket purchased. All Purchasers are subject to these rules. The Foundation has no obligation or liability to any person named on a ticket other than the Purchaser.


Tickets will be available for purchase until June 28, 2019, at midnight. The total number of 50/50 tickets available for sale is unlimited. Tickets are $10 each, $25 for a 5-Pack or $50 for a 15-Pack. All tickets in a 5-Pack or 15-Pack must be in name of the same purchaser. Ticket numbers will be issued in sequential order. The official ticket is a receipt of purchase. Ticket purchases are not tax deductible. Only one method of payment may be used per order. Purchases placed online or where an email address is provided will receive an order confirmation by email followed by an email containing the digital ticket numbers. Please allow 3 to 4 business days for receipt of emailed ticket numbers. Purchasers will have the option of requesting a physical copy of their ticket(s) at the time of purchase or by calling Customer Service at 1-844-512-1044. Requested physical ticket (s) will be mailed to the address provided at the time of the order (please allow a minimum of 14 business days for delivery). It is the Purchaser’s responsibility to ensure that ticket(s) are received before the draw commences. The Foundation is not responsible for orders that are not received on time or at all. Notwithstanding anything contained herein to the contrary, the total liability of the Foundation to any Purchaser shall be limited to the purchase price of the ticket.

Any requests to change the name on an official ticket must be received prior to the draw date. For mail orders only, the change of name must be accompanied with a copy of the Purchaser’s Government issued photo ID.

Prize Details

Spring Bonus prize payout: $10,000 cash. 50/50 Jackpot payout: The winner of the 50/50 will be awarded with half the 50/50 accumulated jackpot. A guaranteed $125,000 payout will be awarded to the winner.


All draws will be under the supervision of Deloitte LLP. The records of Deloitte LLP shall be deemed correct and final. The draw will take place at the offices of Deloitte LLP, Bay Adelaide East, 8 Adelaide Street West, Suite 200, Toronto, ON M5H 0A9. Tickets will be drawn using Random Number Generator (RNG) software. The RNG software will generate one winning ticket number. Prize draws follow the licensing terms and conditions set by the licensing body, Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO).

Prize Winner Notification

The winners of draws will be notified in writing by Deloitte LLP and may also be contacted by phone. The Prize notification letter will be addressed to the Purchaser. The winner name will be posted on the Heart & Stroke Lottery website at and on social media.

The Foundation is only responsible for communicating with the Purchaser and is not responsible for any prize entitlement of any other individual(s).

Prize Claim

The Prize will be awarded to the Purchaser named on the official ticket. By claiming a prize, the prize winner consents to the use of their likeness (photograph, if available), first and last name, ticket number, city or town of residence and transcription/recording of the winner notification phone call to be used for any publicity purposes by the Foundation. Please allow a minimum of 4 weeks for delivery of Prize from final draw date.

To claim the prize, two copies of government issued photo ID are required and the winner shall be required to execute a waiver in a form to be determined by the Foundation, releasing the Foundation and its directors, officers, and affiliates and all others described in the said form of all liability in relation to the prize awarded. This must be returned to the Foundation before a prize can be claimed. Prize must be claimed no later than six months after the final draw date. Unclaimed prizes will be reported and a charitable allocation to the Foundation will be approved by the AGCO.
